Clear Wave rentals are for guests who want flexibility. You can reserve a clear kayak rental or inquire about select beach and water equipment such as snorkel gear, depending on availability.
However, rentals are different from our guided tours. With a rental, you are responsible for your own route, timing, comfort, safety, and the safe return of the equipment. If you are new to kayaking, not a confident swimmer, traveling with young children, pregnant, or unsure about conditions, we recommend booking a guided Clear Wave experience instead.

We want guests to enjoy the water safely and confidently. Rentals are not the best choice for everyone.

Is a rental right for you?
Rentals are best for confident guests.
A rental gives you freedom, but it also comes with responsibility. You should feel comfortable using the equipment, checking your surroundings, handling wind and current, and returning on time.
Best for confident paddlers and comfortable swimmers.
Not recommended for first-time kayakers, nervous swimmers, or guests who need close supervision.
Not recommended for pregnant guests or families with young children who are unsure about conditions.
Guided tours are the better option if you want route guidance, wildlife information, and staff support.

Rental rules & responsibility

Before booking a rental, guests should understand the responsibility that comes with using Clear Wave equipment independently.
Rentals are self-guided, independent, and not supervised by a Clear Wave guide.
Guests must be comfortable using the equipment and following all safety instructions.
Guests are responsible for returning all equipment on time and in the same condition it was received.
Damaged, lost, stolen, broken, heavily scratched, or missing equipment may result in repair, cleaning, replacement, or late-return charges.
A valid ID, deposit, card authorization, or signed waiver may be required before equipment is released.
Do not drag clear kayaks over rocks, coral, docks, concrete, or rough surfaces.
Do not stand, jump, overload, misuse, or intentionally damage any rental equipment.
Snorkel gear rentals may include full-face masks, traditional masks and snorkels, fins, life belts, or life vests depending on availability.
Snorkel gear rentals are for confident swimmers and are not a guided snorkel or lifeguarded activity.
Weather, tide, wind, and unsafe conditions may limit or cancel rental availability.

Rentals are simple when guests understand what is included, what is expected, and when a guided tour may be the better choice.
Are rentals guided or supervised?
No. Rentals are independent and self-guided. A Clear Wave guide does not stay with you during the rental.
Should beginners book a rental?
We recommend beginners book a guided tour instead. Rentals are best for guests who are confident, comfortable, and able to handle the equipment safely.
What happens if I damage the equipment?
Guests may be charged for damage, loss, missing items, heavy scratches, breakage, late returns, cleaning, repair, or replacement when equipment is not returned in proper condition.
Do you rent snorkel gear?
Snorkel gear may be available by request. Options may include full-face masks, traditional mask-and-snorkel sets, fins, life belts, and life vests. Contact us to check availability. Snorkel gear rental is not a guided snorkel tour and does not include lifeguard supervision.
Can I rent if I cannot swim?
Rentals are not recommended for non-swimmers. If you are not a confident swimmer, choose a guided activity or speak with our team before booking.
Can weather affect rentals?
Yes. Rentals may be limited, rescheduled, or cancelled due to wind, tide, weather, water conditions, visibility, or safety concerns.
Do I need to sign a waiver?
Yes. Guests may need to sign a waiver and accept rental responsibility before equipment is released.
